The Voice podcast is an educational podcast that touches upon a range of urban and social work topics. The goal of the podcast is to raise awareness and foster resilience. Dr. Zayda Sorrell-Medina has a Master's degree in Social Work and a Ph.D. in Urban and Environmental Planning and Policy. She is also a first-generation college student, former foster and homeless youth, and foster parent.
In Season 1, Dr. Zayda Sorrell-Medina tells tender stories from her life that shed light on topics at the intersection of urban poverty, foster care, youth homelessness, and race/ethnicity/identity. Drawing upon her personal experiences and professional background, she ends each episode with motivational and educational messages.
